Faces of Carroll: Dr. Sharon Gresham

There are many reasons why our students, professors, and teaching churches choose B.H. Carroll Theological Institute. So many, that we decided to round up some of our favorite stories in this series: The Faces of Carroll.

What do you teach at Carroll?

Christian Disciplines, James, Letters of John

What motivated you to teach at Carroll?

I have had the privilege of earning my Ph.D. from Carroll. Additionally, I have known several of the professors prior to being a student at Carroll. I knew the academic level would be what good pedagogy should be.

Tell us more about your teaching ministry.

I am the founder and director of Ashes to Crowns Ministries (www.ashestocrownsministries.com), a speaking ministry to help people find their identity and freedom in Christ.

Could you provide some examples of some of the best moments in teaching at Carroll?

As a former teacher of Mathematics and English, I always loved when I saw the lights “come on” in the students’ eyes. I love it when that same thing shows in my students’ discussions and writing. Watching as the Masters Students and the Teaching Church Readers grow in the Lord has been inspiring to me. These people who love the Lord Jesus and hunger to learn more about Him compels me to be my best self and motivates me to improve as a learner and teacher. I praise the Lord that I have the privilege to teach at Carroll! In particular, I have loved seeing the students grow in their understanding of the spiritual disciplines to the point of being committed to following all of the disciplines in their lives.
