Dr. Scott Floyd to Present Ethics Workshop

Dr. Scott Floyd, Director of Counseling Programs at B. H. Carroll Theological Institute, will present a workshop at the upcoming Christian Counselors of Texas Annual Conference, February 15-17, in Dallas. The CCT annual conference features nationally recognized speakers as well as provides opportunities to earn CEUs and network with other mental health care professionals from around Texas.

Dr. Floyd’s workshop will help participants develop an understanding of the term “ethical drift” and its place in the counseling profession. As a result of attending this workshop, participants will be able to create an awareness of how ethical drift occurs, discover the areas of the counselor’s practice where it is likely to happen, and learn strategies for avoiding ethical drift in the counseling profession.

Dr. Floyd is Professor of Psychology and Counseling and Director of Counseling Programs at B. H. Carroll Theological Institute in Irving. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he is a Licensed Professional Counselor and counseling supervisor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Since 1995, he has served as Director of Counseling Ministries at Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Ft. Worth. He is the author of Crisis Counseling: A Guide for Pastors and Professionals.Christian Counselors of Texas, Inc. (CCT) is a volunteer organization of professional Christian counselors, therapists, ministers, students, and other individuals who are committed to helping people address the emotional issues and situations affecting their lives.
