Faces of Carroll: Sarah Mathews

There are many reasons why our students, professors, and teaching churches choose B.H. Carroll Theological Institute. So many, that we decided to round up some of our favorite stories in this series: The Faces of Carroll.

Join us in learning more about the Faces of Carroll…

What did you study at Carroll?

Counseling, Master’s

Why did you choose Carroll?

I chose Carroll for the small class sizes, for the fact that I knew Dr. Floyd, and because professors knew you by name and prayed for you. I also liked that it is gospel-centered.

How did Carroll prepare you for ministry?

As a Counselor, I learned research- and evidenced-based approaches while also learning how to incorporate the Bible and how to be Spirit-led in session.

What are you doing now with your degree?

I have my own practice and my focus is members of the adoption triad, children in foster care, reunification, and mamas facing unplanned pregnancies.

How did being able to stay planted in your local community while attending Carroll help to support your life balance?

It wasn’t a burden. I could drive 20 mins down the road to class or take online classes. It encouraged a balanced lifestyle.

What would you say to someone who was considering enrolling in Carroll?

Do it! I encourage people all the time to consider BH Carroll. It is Christ-centered, personal, and enjoyable. I am not just a number. Nor am I just a face. I am remembered, prayed for, and celebrated. That makes all the difference.
