One of our core values is “accountable.” We hold that “we are accountable to God who called us to this mission, our governing board and stakeholders, the churches whom we serve, our accrediting agencies, and our students who put their trust in us to be equipped for the diverse and global ministries of the Church.” We will live out that value as we host a team for reaffirmation of our accreditation with the Association of Biblical Higher Education April 4-6 at the Carroll Center.
In preparation for this visit our faculty and staff have prepared a five-document, 217-page self-study, which evaluated our practices against the standards of accreditation held by the Association. The site visit team, made up of six members, will spend time Monday through Wednesday with our Senior Fellows, Governors, students, and faculty in order to verify and better understand what we have presented in our self-study. One goal of the visit is to seek ways in which we can improve as an Institute to carry out our mission.
I am 100% confident we will receive reaffirmation for membership in ABHE and discover ways to improve all we do to equip church leaders here and around the world. I am grateful to our team of faculty and staff who worked so diligently to make this a possibility. We appreciate your prayers and support for the team and us as we work together these three days. We hosted some of our DFW-area alumni March 19 at the Carroll Center. They shared stories of the high quality of academic training they received, how their professors cared for them, and the many ways Carroll means to them as they serve where they are. It was a great time of fellowship, and we laughed a lot too! We are grateful for our over 130 graduates and count them among our “letters of recommendation” for how we live out God’s call on our lives.

Some of you have asked how the changing relationship between the US and Cuba would affect our programs there. The most obvious change so far is ease of travel and lessening of restrictions for American tourists. Dr. Adlin and Robert Cotto recently traveled to Cuba to prepare for our new cohort of students who will begin their studies this September. This new openness will allow both Carroll students and supporters to travel with us when we go there to teach and serve. We will let you know about how to take courses with the Cuban students on the island and to serve with our Teaching Churches while we are there. Let us never forget that the fields of church leaders who need Christ-centered, biblically based training to carry out God’s call on their lives is “white unto harvest.” We will not rest until Christ returns in our calling to serve those who serve Christ and his church.
