In the News: Hispanic Theological Education Program

Adlin Cotto
B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary has been offering classes specifically to Hispanic pastors and lay leaders in Spanish since 2022 through the unique Hispanic Theological Education Program (HTEP). This innovative and in-depth program allows us to deliver biblically-based theological education specifically to the Hispanic community, which has often been under-served by higher education. Delivery of HTEP courses is entirely in Spanish, and taught by Latino faculty of B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary who are familiar with and experienced in the nuances of the Latino culture.

With twenty students from Cuba, Mexico, Spain, Puerto Rico, and the United States, the HTEP program desires and expects to be a bridge across geographical and denominational borders, launching an opportunity which is new and necessary to aspiring leaders, previously without access. Through a multi-year grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc., B. H. Carroll is able to offer these seminary courses that are affordable, accessible, and flexible to all who desire biblical training within their Latino cultural context.

Please read more here from Dr. Adlin Cotto, Carroll’s Director of Masters’ Programs and Hispanic Studies, as she shares insights about the HTEP with the In Trust Center in their online publication.
