Students Transition to Canvas Learning Management System

IRVING, Texas (Dec. 7, 2021)—When students log into their courses in the Paschal term, they’ll find both a new look and new functionality in the Canvas learning management system (LMS).

The shift from Moodle to Canvas was made because of its much cleaner presentation and easier navigation, as well as its integration with Zoom and other elements. The LMS change will enable students and professors to continue experiencing Carroll’s model of education in the best and most seamless way possible.

Students will be able to access courses for which they’ve registered in Canvas after midnight on the day they register at https://bhcarroll.edu/canvas. And, as of January 1, 2022, students and faculty will have access to IT assistance with Canvas 24/7.

An added benefit for both faculty and staff is the availability of the Canvas app for both Android and iOS. Simply search for “Canvas Student” or “Canvas Teacher” and download the app. Users will be required to select the name of the institution. The app provides extensive access to all course content, gradebooks, and grading tools (for faculty).

Students and faculty with questions should contact Molly Floyd, director of online learning, at mfloyd@bhcarroll.edu.
