B. H. Carroll Theological Institute cordially invites its students, faculty, staff, and members of its supporting church network to view its 2020 Convocation and Graduation Ceremony online on Friday, May 28, at 7 p.m.
The “virtual graduation ceremony” is now necessary due to the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced the cancellation of the in-person ceremony originally scheduled in May. The ceremony will be broadcast on multiple platforms, including Facebook and YouTube.
“There’s an old movie out there where a gruff sergeant tells his Marines in training, ‘You improvise. You overcome. You adapt,’” said B.H. Carroll President Gene Wilkes. “It seems like we’ve been forced by COVID-19 to do a lot of that lately. While we would much prefer to see our students graduate face-to-face, this adaptation will allow them to gather around with close family and celebrate their tremendous achievements in the comfort and safety of their homes.”
This year’s convocation and graduation celebration will feature guest speaker Dr. Ralph Enlow, past president of the Association of Biblical Higher Education.
Carroll will confer a total of 27 degrees in the virtual ceremony. Eleven of those degrees will be awarded to students in Carroll’s China program. Two students will be awarded their PhD degrees.
