Each year, the President’s Award is presented to a person that has invested their time, talent and treasures to the mission of B. H. Carroll. They serve as an example of someone the B. H. Carroll community can be encouraged by. This year’s President’s Award was presented to David Chisum. David graduated Cum Laude from Baylor University in 1977 with a BBA in Accounting. His first position was with KPMG, a national accounting firm, in their Waco office, during which he earned his CPA, In 1981, he moved to Dallas and began a career of serving as the Chief Financial Officer for several manufacturing businesses.
As a young man that grew up in the local church, he began serving in leadership positions beginning with Prestonwood Baptist Church. In 1988 he was selected to serve as a Deacon and in 1989 he served as its Stewardship Chairman. After joining Legacy Church in the early 1990s, to worship under the pastorship of Dr. Wilkes, he served multiple terms on the Finance Committee, and two terms on its Leadership Team.
David has served as a governor at B. H. Carroll Theological Institute since April 2017. Married to Tracy Chisum, he is blessed with three children and six grandchildren. His personal interests include fitness training and golf, as well as traveling with his wife and spending time with his family.
