PHD Graduate, David Ritsema, Carries the Carroll Flag to Israel and Jordan

Dr. David Ritsema is Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Waxahachie, Texas and Resident Fellow at Carroll Institute. This past December, David and his wife, Angela, went on a 10-day trip to Israel and Jordan. They visited sites including Joppa, Caesarea Maritima, Megiddo, Mount Carmel, Nazareth, Tiberias, the Sea of Galilee, the “Jesus Boat,” Mount of Beatitudes, Tel Dan, Caesarea Philippi, Dead Sea, Qumran, Jericho, Petra, Mount Nebo, Jerusalem, the Temple Mount, Mount of Olives, Gethsemane, King Herod’s Palace, Bethlehem, Golgotha and the Empty Tomb, Church of the Sepulchre, and other sites. The photo of Dr. Ritsema with the Carroll Flag was taken on the Sea of Galilee.

The Ritsemas accompanied a group of nearly 50 people from other churches in Waxahachie and Downers Grove, Illinois through the travel company Friendship Tours.

Dr. Ritsema was invited to speak at a number of locations and also had the opportunity to present part of his dissertation, The Divine Messiah: A Portrait of Jesus in the Johannine Literature, to the tour group. He also met with a Christian professor there who was excited to hear about B. H. Carroll Theological Institute and said she would have her students read his dissertation as required reading for her classes.
