2025 Graduation

Information for Master’s & Doctoral Students

Congratulations, graduating master’s and doctoral students! We are excited to share this milestone event with you and celebrate your hard work and success!

Graduate Arrival

• Graduates should arrive at 4:30pm and enter through the sanctuary door on the west side of the church.
• Regalia – All regalia will be on racks in the designated dressing areas. (There will be extra sizes for your comfort options.)
• Graduation rehearsal begins at 5:00pm in the sanctuary.
• A light dinner for graduates and faculty only will be held at 5:30pm.
• The ceremony begins with a procession at 7:00pm.

Regalia: Cap, Gown, Hoods, Tassels

• All graduates are provided a gown and a tam or mortarboard for use during the ceremony.
• Master’s graduates will be provided a hood and a tassel, which will be kept for posterity by the graduates.
• Doctoral graduates will be provided a doctoral hood, which will be kept for posterity by the graduates.

Doctoral Hooding

• As a doctoral graduate participating in the in-person ceremony, you will be hooded on stage during the ceremony.
• Doctoral students are hooded by their dissertation advisor or a delegate.
• Do not wear your hood before or during the ceremony. Rather, carry it over your arm to hand to the faculty member who will hood you, and they will place it over your head to wear for the rest of the ceremony.
